A United Airlines flight originally bound for Mexico City from San Francisco was forced to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles on Friday due to a reported hydraulics issue, marking the fourth emergency involving a United Airlines flight this week.

The aircraft landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport at approximately 4:30 p.m., with all 110 passengers and crew members reported unharmed, according to a statement from United Airlines.

Although fire engines were on standby at the airport, they were not required, confirmed Nicholas Prange, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

United Airlines announced that affected passengers would be accommodated on another flight scheduled to depart for Mexico later on Friday.

The Airbus A320 involved in the incident is equipped with three hydraulic systems for redundancy purposes, with initial investigations indicating an issue with only one system, the airline stated.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) declared its intention to investigate the circumstances surrounding the emergency landing.

This emergency landing in Los Angeles followed an earlier incident where passengers had to be evacuated from another United Airlines flight in Houston, Texas, after the plane veered off the runway and became stuck in the grass. No injuries were reported among the 160 passengers and six crew members.

Video footage captured the plane tilted to one side with one of its wings nearly touching the ground after the landing in Houston.

Additionally, on Thursday, another United Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles after losing a tire during takeoff from San Francisco. No injuries were reported in this incident either.

Earlier in the week, a United flight bound for Fort Myers, Texas, had to return to Houston after one of the plane’s engines caught fire. Although several passengers captured videos showing flames emanating from the engine, no injuries were reported among the 167 passengers aboard the Boeing 737.
